"The Beginning"
At the start of the project, I wasn't in a group with Charlie, or even doing Da Vinci. Yet when I heard what Charlie's project was, I realised that his topic was of much bigger interest to me. I asked Charlie if we could make a group, as by this stage I had already abandoned my previous subject, and he agreed! In our next iMind lesson, Charlie and I looked into the format and "the way" we were going to do the project. We both agreed that by doing a website, it would allow both of us access at any time and it would also mean that various different tabs could be made linking to the different areas in the topic. Finally we formed a question: "How have Leonardo Da Vinci's inventions affected the world today?"
Along with the benefits of working in a group, such as a better looking project with more information, there are the disadvantages, for example communication between Charlie and myself. I have also realised that time management is key to delivering a quality piece of work.
I have hardly started my research and have realised that the larger percentage of the work is going to have to be done in the holidays to allow time for me to do other tasks in term time.

Christmas
With a whole term gone and no evidence for work, the Christmas holidays are going to be the work stage. However, we were unable to obtain a marvellous book called Leonardo's machines as it was taken out from the library by a teacher. A meeting with Father David is yet to happen, probably due to Charlie and I forgetting to go... however also due to the fact that Father David is in Rome for the last week of term, a meeting is going to happen strait after the holidays.
We have given ourselves two inventions to research and work with over the holidays, I'm doing the ball bearing and the aerial screw, Charlie is doing the armoured vehicle and the printing press... let the work commence.
A week into the holidays and not much done... need to manage time and allocate time to this project. Also need to communicate with Charlie more.
End of the holidays and quite a bit done, I'm going to need to do some research after school and during the weekends though. Meeting with Father David in the calendar!

2nd Term
Had the meeting and obtained two books from Father David, however after just having a flick through them I think they're more to do with his artwork and not on the four inventions we are researching. This term isn't hopefully going to contain too much work on the project, more research and reading and then writing up in half term and Easter.
Half term has come quick, gradual progress made, nothing big.
I'm going to need to make up for going skiing in the holidays by working in term time.
Oh dear, nothing done up to Easter, too much homework and also a History project due in after Easter is taking priority at the moment.

Easter Holiday and half term leading up to deadline
Not that much progress made yet in Easter, possibly too much fun and too long sleep-ins... must allocate time for the website as I know that I will probably end up leaving it to the last weekend, along with the other work, not good.
As I guessed, nothing done in Easter until this entry on the last weekend, final half term here we come.
Finishing touches being made, reading through the work I've realised that it was all done for the purpose of the project and I haven't really acknowledged some of the information we've written, it really is incredible what Da Vinci did.
Final weekend and happy with what we've done, I hadn't really written up much of the work and Charlie's nagging has reminded me that the information I've got hasn't actually been put on the website! Just e-mailed Father David to see if a meeting tomorrow (Monday) would be good, just to check things over.
Almost ready to hand it in.
Monday morning and just editing the pictures slightly, meeting with Father David is on Tuesday.
Had a meeting with Father David and gave him back his books, all ready to e-mail it tomorrow. Finishing touches have been done tonight. Truly amazing what Da Vinci did.
So the projects done and we're ready to hand it in, we've had troubles such as loss of communication and not managing time but we got over them! Charlie got snapchat so we could talk and I think we both were able to allocate time to the project. At first writing in the process journal was hard because I didn't really know what "stuff" to put in it but it got easier. The bibliography is still going to take a bit of getting used to, I didn't realise how much we rely on other websites for information and pictures. In the end though I'm happy with what we've done, obviously it's not perfect but it looks good, it has some good facts and information and in the end the "stuff" was just putting itself on the page.
